ILLUSTRATOR & STORYTELLER
Yuke Li was enrolled in the School of Visual Arts MFA Illustration as Visual Essay Program where she was mentored by Marshall Arisman whom she counts as a significant influence.
After graduating in 2020, Yuke began her career in earnest as a freelance illustrator and storyteller, which included a stint with Bill Plympton at Plymptoons as an animation art director. She now calls New York City home, where she works on books, public art, and editorial illustrations.
Yuke uses visual language to express emotions, thoughts, and stories. The diversity of people and culture has been her most recent inspiration. Yuke's goal is to inspire people with another possibility, to comfort sadness, and to plant a hopeful seed in the mind. She believes that magic happens, and art is her way.
